Treasures and tripping hazards

Many things are happening here at Silver Birch now. The pathways and clearing of new tracks (for both vehicle access and walking) are all coming along.  We’ve had a number of people out metal detecting on the property, which we are happy to do at any time.

The only conditions we put on this, are that all finds are declared, and we have the option to keep items related to the long history of the property. We discovered just recently that we had stables here at one point. As you have already seen from the photos, we also had a new addition arrive this week. An eight week old, four legged tripping hazard, (Springer Spaniel) that we have named Samson.

We will also be using one of the backpacker programs here in Tasmania quite soon. This will enable us to get a lot more of the cleaning up and clearing done over winter. We have finished the guest room in the main house, and should have the first guest room done in the Bird House (the outbuilding) in the next few weeks. We have also ordered everything we need to refit the main bathroom, as this will initially be the bathroom that guests use.

Our wood heater and satellite internet are also going in over coming weeks.
