I write the stories that linger long after the last page, the quiet horrors, the things that shouldn’t move but do, the voices you swear you heard when no one was there. My writing blends psychological horror and dark science fiction, often set in the forgotten corners of Australia. I write across multiple genres, including horror, science fiction, romance, children’s books, comedy, fantasy, young adult, and adult fiction, but no matter the form, each story carries the same thread of unease, curiosity, and the quiet pull of something just beneath the surface. I don’t deal in jump scares or easy resolutions. I believe real terror lives in silence, in memory, and in what we leave unsaid. My narratives are slow burns by design, drawing readers into layered worlds that twist reality and dismantle certainty one line at a time.
I’m Raven Moffitt, a Melbourne-based author living with Parkinson’s Disease and Fibromyalgia. Writing isn’t just what I do, it’s the fire I’ve chosen to walk through. In 2025, I set myself the challenge of writing and publishing ten books within a year. I completed it in six months. Every story is an act of defiance. Every sentence is a promise that this disease does not get the final word.
Welcome to my world. Pull up a chair. Stay a while.
Just don’t stand too close to the trees, they’re watching you.
